Visit Moose Jaw announced a new member to their board of directors on Wednesday. The announcement was made in the lobby of the Temple Gardens Hotel & Spa in downtown Moose Jaw.

Super 8 by Wyndham Moose Jaw and their general manager Cheryl Carpenter were welcomed as Visit Moose Jaw's 8th board member.

VMJ sales coordinator Paula Burns was on hand to help make the announcement, and provided a bit of background on Visit Moose Jaw: “Visit Moose is a destination marketing fund, here to bring events into the city, and to sponsor and provide funding for local and outside-of-town events...mainly just to have new visitors, new sports teams, new organizations to come into the city and see what [our city] is all about.”

Carpenter said, “It’s just been exciting to be a part of this, so that we know of upcoming events and being a part of other hoteliers, [and] being able to communicate with them, and knowing what’s going on in the city.”

Temple Gardens general manager David Wood had this to say at the event: “We’re a founder member of Visit Moose Jaw, and for nearly all of our existence, I’ve served as the chair of Visit Moose Jaw.”

Wood also talked about the importance of adding another board member. “This is tremendous. We started out in 2014 with only four hotels and Mosaic Place. So now we have eight member properties, which is a real step forward for us.”

Visit Moose Jaw also provides information on where to shop, where to eat, and what to see and do in the Friendly City.
