The Saskatchewan government is trying to clear up confusion that appears to be coming up over who and when those over the age of 70 can receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

So far, across the province, more than 85 percent of those in long-term care homes, and 75 percent of those residing in personal care homes, have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. The process for those who live independently, though, is where the confusion is coming in for some residents of the province.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has stated they are compiling contact lists through data from eHealth, and then identifying those over the age of 70 in various locations. They will then be contacted by phone to set up an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccine.

In some centers, those over the age of 70 have gone to the vaccination centers without appointments, hoping to be able to get one, before being contacted by SHA.
