The Moose Jaw Fire Department was on the scene at an apartment fire at 59 Woodlily Drive late Sunday morning, where smoke could be seen billowing from a window.

Fire Chief Rod Montgomery said the small fire was caused by malfunctioning equipment in the boiler room.

"The fire was contained to that room," Montgomery said.

The equipment room is on the main floor of that building. Montgomery said there was no damage to any of the adjacent suites.

"All the damage was to the equipment itself. There was some flame impingement on the one side wall, but other than that there was no structural fire, other than the equipment. There may be some issues with smoke; however, the crews did a good job of ventilating."
