Mobile MD will be getting a second season on CityTV Saskatchewan.

The television series featuring Moose Jaw physician Dr. Samantha Henley travelling across the province with her RV to visit patients, recently wrapped up their first season and announced on Facebook the show will be returning for another year.

"I can't believe it to be honest. I'm actually super shocked and super happy and super proud that we actually put together a show that was so well-received that we are getting a second season, it kind of amazing," Henley said.

Henley said for the most part she flies under the radar when she is out in public, but once in awhile, someone will recognize her from the show.

"Most of the time nobody has a clue who I am so it's great," she said.

"I can go shopping and nothing ever happens except for the other day when I was trying to clean out the tanks of the RV. I just finished cleaning actually, and was able to pull away when somebody stopped, did a U-turn and came back to flag me down and tell me they really liked the show."

The second season will have it's own set for challenges with the COVID-19 pandemic. Henley said they technically never finished the first season because they were going to do an online 360-degree tour of the RV when the pandemic hit and the idea had to be put on hold.

And while you'd think a mobile doctor would be popular during the pandemic, Henley said it is actually more challenging because all of the living supplies that can be contaminated.

The crew at Wavelength Entertainment are working on ways to film outside and doing consultations under the RV's awning depending on the situation. Their goals is to do as much shooting as possible from a save distance where masks aren't needed as it makes for difficult viewing.
