The COVID-19 pandemic is shaking the country to it's core, Wednesday morning Canada broke 3000 cases with Ontario reporting 100 new cases.

Almost one million Canadians applied for E.I. last week, and Wednesday morning it was announced that the Canada Emergency Response Benefit was passed in parliament and is now being heard at the senate.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau addressed the country Wednesday morning.

"Today I'll be getting the latest modeling from the Public Health Agency of Canada. We'll discuss how we can share this information more directly with all of you. You deserve the best information we've got about what's happening today and what might happen tomorrow because otherwise the uncertainty can be really tough. Not just for your routine but for your mental health too."

Trudeau detailed more about the mental health aspect.

"We're facing a once in a generation challenge and on top of that you can't do many of the things that keep you feeling good like getting together with friends or having dinner with a neighbor. If you need help, reach out to your neighbor, to a sibling, to a friend, to a hotline, but do it from home. Don't go out unless you absolutely have to."

Social distancing he says is the best way to fight COVID-19 and flatten the curve.
