Conditions are getting better now that highway and city crews have been out but roads are still extremely icy after freezing rain moved through early Wednesday morning.

RCMP closed down part of the TransCanada Highway near Belle Plaine after a semi rolled, blocking the entire eastbound lane. Icy conditions in other parts of the region resulted in the highway being closed for several hours, however that restriction has since been lifted. Despite that, Travel Not Recommended Warnings still dot the Road Report map with multiple accidents being reported, especially around Regina.

Inside the city isn't much better. Sanding crews are out in both cities but it can be next to impossible to stop right now at many intersections, especially on the less frequently travelled streets. Parking lots and sidewalks will also be a cause for concern as pedestrians attempt to make their way around.

Rural buses are also being cancelled due to the road conditions in the area. You can find the latest from Prairie South here and Holy Trinity bus information can be found here. City buses are running but officials tell us that there are some delays as drivers slow down.
