Part of the TransCanada Highway is closed after an accident overnight between Moose Jaw and Regina. The area just east of Belle Plaine was shut down after a semi rolled, blocking both east bound lanes.

Travel around Regina and Moose Jaw is not recommended in any direction as of 5:30am due to extremely icy conditions after freezing rain moved through overnight. The Road Report shows a number of travel advisories due to icy conditions  but roads inside the city can be just as treacherous. It can be next to impossible to stop right now at many intersections, especially on the less frequently travelled streets while we wait for sanding trucks to make their rounds.

Use caution when doing any travelling today. On the roads be sure to slow down and leave more room between vehicles. Sidewalks and parking lots are just as bad for pedestrians.
