With added excitement this week after the announcement of the arrival of the Deputy Mayor of Stor-Elvdal, Norway... those involved in helping make regain his title will have the moment of truth this week.

The option of giving Mac a new rack seems to be the easiest on the list of options, but is it feasible? That question will be answered this week as Tourism Moose Jaw and their partners on the project come together.

"We actually have our very first project meeting on Thursday with the six people who have donated their time and efforts to this massive project. As we've always said we're going to be starting with the engineering report. We're working with Sask Polytechnic, they're going to be getting drones out there and taking measurements, we're going to do this high tech for the old guy," explained Executive Director for Tourism Moose Jaw, Jacki L'Heureux Mason.

But that's not the only thing they're overjoyed by, L'Heureux Mason said all this extra publicity for Mac and the fame he's gained has meant nothing but positive things for the Tourism Centre.

"Instead of the normal three or four people a day we've been having probably 15 to 25 people a day inside and outside of the centre and it's been wonderful. I'm hearing things like 'we're going to be the last people to have a picture of Mac in his original form', this is awesome. We're excited with the reaction we've been getting, we're still doing interviews - six weeks in the media and still, people are interested in hearing it," detailed L'Heureux Mason. "I want people to really understand that this isn't just some silly little promotion, this is going to translate to big things for Moose Jaw it already has. The amount of requests we saw from people asking about information from Moose Jaw has quadrupled from this time last year. Post on the New York Times and that's the one I followed the most closely, there were about 50 or 60 posts of people tagging a friend saying 'we've got to make a road trip', that's real dollars into our economy."

It was announced Monday afternoon that Deputy Mayor Linda Otnes Henriksen will be spending a handful of days in Moose Jaw, which is something the team at Tourism Moose Jaw and their supporters have been looking forward to for the past month and a half.

The "Moose Summit", which will include the leaders of both communities involved in the moose feud, will last from March 1st-6th.
