People downtown, at the Tourism Moose Jaw building and many other places will begin to see some friendly and helpful faces now that summer time has arrived.

Tourism Moose Jaw has a roster of people well educated on businesses in the city and activities taking places over the next few months, with these people ready to help those who need it.

"One of the service that we provide for the city (is) to have people downtown, walking around, providing information, letting people know where to eat, what time the tunnels go (until), where the Temple Gardens Mineral Spa is, all the kinds of basic questions and than some," said Executive Director for Tourism Moose Jaw Jackie L'Heureux-Mason. "These people know quite a bit about what's going on around here."

She also noted that though these positions seem like a lot of fun, there's many hours of preparation and training that go into the job to be fully equipped with all the knowledge they will need.

"This orientation is critical for all these bright, lovely faces because we are member based. It's really important for (the Ambassadors) to understand what our members do and the services they provide... when you come to Moose Jaw for the first time and you walk into the visitor centre these are the face that you are going to see and they will tell you everything you need to know about Moose Jaw."

Though the information they needed to learn was key, there was also a few other things that played into their role to help make them successful Ambassadors.

"We definitely had to get the route down, being able to stand backwards in the trolley without falling over, pointing and making sure people actually see the sites that were trying to talk about because they are very important and we really want to make sure they get the full experience," explained Kaitlyn Aparicio a first year Ambassador. "We want them to know what's here and what we have to offer."

This elite squad of Ambassadors are now ready to meet, greet and answer questions from residents as well as visitors to our city.
