Under a federal-provincial agreement, Moose Jaw is getting 23 more licensed child care spaces.

The Northwest Child Development Centre is one of the six centres in the province. Funding is provided through the Canada-Saskatchewan Early Learning and Child Care (ELCC) Agreement.

In a media release, Ralph Goodale, federal minister of public safety and emergency preparedness, said the announcement will make life a bit easier for more parents across the province.

The release said the Government of Saskatchewan prioritizes allocating new child care spaces in communities where there is both a high need for child care and a higher level of vulnerability and to organizations that are ready to move forward with centre development.

Across the province, there will be 130 more spaces in five Saskatchewan locations.
