The list of businesses and organizations still closed in Moose Jaw is getting shorter and shorter by the day. The latest to re-open is the Timothy Eaton Gardens.

Even though they were allowed to re-open in June, the Moose Jaw and District Seniors Association decided to keep the centre closed since many of their activities were still banned.

Now, according to Traci Duncan, the Gardens' acting general manager, many of those restrictions have been finally lifted.

"Actually all of our activities are allowed right now. The only thing that we can't do as of yet, other than all of our hall rentals, are card games. We aren't allowed to play cards yet."

The cafe is also once again, serving breakfast and lunch with reduced capacity.

Duncan explains that this pandemic has been especially hard on Moose Jaw's senior citizens.

"To tell you the truth, I don't think that a lot of them have been coping well. The reason being that a lot of seniors - especially older seniors - are alone. They've been in isolation now for a very long time."

She says that with the centre once again open, the city's seniors are excited to finally be able to spend time among their community.
