Over $12,000 tickets have been sold for the Saskatchewan Elks Children’s Charity Lotteries, but it is far from sold out.

About $300,000 worth of tickets has been printed for the lottery.

Funds from the lotteries go to the Saskatchewan Health Foundation and the Elks and Royal Purple National Fund for Children.

“It also finances medical needs for people over 18 and our national children’s fund helps with children’s medical needs for under 18 and our main focus is children’s hearing,” said draw chair Harold Claffey.

The early bird draw is coming up quickly as it takes place on May 14 and only about 150 tickets have been sold.

“Mainly we want to emphasize get your tickets for the Early Bird Draw because you may as well have a chance on that two-week holiday in the Mayan Riviera taken at your leisure,” said Claffey.

“It’ll be a gift certificate deal for all the trip prizes, so after the crisis is over and travel restrictions are eased the prize will be waiting for you.”

There is also the option was taking $5,000 cash instead of the trip for the early bird prize.

The 50/50 draw takes place on June 13 and up to $130,000 could be up for grabs. Only 62,000 tickets have been printed and tickets cost one for $10, four for $20 and 15 for $50.
