The Thunder Creek Model train show kicks off today at 9:00 am at the Western Development Museum, It starts at 9:00 am and goes until 5:00 pm both today and Sunday.

A great many displays and dioramas will be showcased during the two day event, including an N scale display.

Bill Ash, Chairmen of the show, explained how he got into model trains "I was gonna retire soon and was thinking of a hobby for after retirement, and I always was impressed with the diorama work that was done on all the model rail displays at all the shows that I would go to"

Barry Johnson explained a little bit about working on a diorama "You put the time into it when you have it... you can do 10 minutes at a time or 3 or 4 hours at a time its just how involved you get when you're doing a project...theres a lot of patience involved"

36 different participants including active train displays, dealers that sell model trains and accessories, static displays, and individuals that are selling items from their collection will be at the show.
