Update 10:30am:

Shortly before 10:30 am Premier Scott Moe emerged from Government House after speaking with Lt. Gov. Russ Mirasty.

With the meeting complete, the Writ has officially been dropped, the legislature dissolved, and the 2020 Provincial Campaign has begun.

Saskatchewan residents head to the polls on October 26th.

Original Story:

With just 28 days until the Provincial election, Premier Scott Moe is expected to drop the Writ sometime today, Sept. 29.

In a tweet yesterday, Moe announced that he plans on visiting Lt. Gov. Russ Mirasty today to request that the current Legislature be dissolved.

Moe laid out what he thinks is a top priority for voters right now.

"Frankly, who do you trust to recover the economy in Saskatchewan. That is the question that I think many Saskatchewan people will be asking themselves over the course of the next few weeks."

This will officially open the campaign for the next Government of Saskatchewan.
