A long-standing Christmas tradition is being celebrated again as the Moose Jaw Rotary Club hold their annual Christmas tree sale on the Moose Jaw Co-op lot downtown.

Mike Daniel from the Moose Jaw Wakamow Rotary Club told us sales have been strong.

"They have been brisk.  We've sold about 450 or 455 trees to date so the sales have been very good.  People are pretty happy when they come with their family to get a tree so it's a nice time of year".

The strong sales leave only about twenty trees left on the lot.

"They (the numbers) are dwindling," Daniel said.  "So today or by sometime tomorrow (Friday) we'll be sold out".

All the money from the tree sales goes back into Rotary community projects.

Daniel and his wife moved to Moose Jaw about three years ago, relocating from Vanguard.  When they arrived they immediately looked for a way in which to get involved.

"We looked for some way to give back to the community of Moose Jaw.  We were raised with the idea that you give back to your community, that's something we wanted to do".
