As the 2020 Scotties Tournament of Hearts moves into its final day at Mosaic Place in Moose Jaw today, organizers are already singing the praises of the event.

Clearly, one of the big factors in making the week the success it has been are the volunteers who helped pull it all together.  Alison Griffin plays second for Team Nunavut and she was one of many to share her positive thoughts.

"We've been trying to compliment the volunteers as much as possible, and the organizational committee here, because I really don't know what else they could have done to make this better for us.  The volunteers just bent over backward and were really supportive and always smiling.  They just went above and beyond, so we just want to says thanks to all the volunteers and hope that they know how much we appreciate how much they did for us."

Maddie Kelly, marketing and office manager for the Scotties, moved to Moose Jaw over the summer to help plan the event. She says it’s going to be hard leaving to go back to her home province of Nova Scotia.

“It’s weird to say I’m leaving and not coming back because I’ve always said I’ll come back,” Kelly said. “But I will come back. There is a part of me in Moose Jaw and I think I will always feel a little Saskatchewan, a little green, in my heart.”

Kelly was also quick to praise the volunteers saying that when they made the call asking for people to help out it didn’t take long for the people of Moose Jaw to step up to the plate.

Most volunteers are working between five and six hours per day.

Kelly also had good things to say about the venue that hosted the games, the Heartstop Lounge and other Scottie's events.

“The building has been amazing.  Everybody that’s come together to make it happen just knows what they are doing.  They are doing a great job.”

The Scotties wraps up today with the championship game at 6 p.m. at Mosaic Place.
