With the streets not yet dug up for the final part of Phase 3 of the Cast Iron water main replacement program, the City of Moose Jaw's engineering department is preparing for Phase 4.

“We’re actively finalizing the tender package and getting that out to market right now,” said city engineer Josh Mickleborough, explaining where they are in the process. “We do have a list, and that should be released within the next week. And we’ll be starting that communication with those folks who will be living on those streets.”

The city has budgeted $6.5 million in the capital budget for the water main replacement each year, and this is the fourth year of the project.

There has been additional funding provided from various sources, including $2 million from the federal government as part of their transit stream of the Investing in Canada program.
