Every year Moose Jaw's Parks and recreation group accepts donations of used sporting equipment and bicycles in hopes they can give them to people who can get better use of them.

Stephan Hall the Programs Director outlines what they are looking for.

"We are looking for good quality used equipment, if we use skates as an example if they are tattered and torn and there isn't much blade left at that point there is nothing we can do with them they are recycled or placed in the landfill. The sports equipment we get if there is tears that can't be replaced there is nothing we can do with them".

The goal of the program is to put the equipment into the hands of someone who will get more use out of it.

"We take donations of used equipment and bicycles and we fix up bikes if they are not road worthy and redistribute them free of charge." Said Hall.

There are certain times you can drop off or pick up equipment.

"Wednesdays 4:30-5:30 is the best time to access it but you can also phone the parks and recreation department with the city at 694-4447 and ask to speak with me Stephan Hall and we can make arrangements to open up the sports library".

The program runs until September 15th and can be found at 441 Fairford St. W
