The Spinal Cord Injury Saskatchewa (SCI Sask) held a meeting at Providence Place Thursday afternoon to discuss certain questions revolving around special needs accessibility, societal challenges and what they wished to change in their community.

Kristin Drummond, Client Service Coordinator from SCI Sask also gave insight into what they do does.

"We provide services to individuals with spinal cord injuries and other disabilities, and our mission is to help individuals with physical disabilities achieve independence, self-reliance, and full community participation," said Drummond.

Some of the questions asked during the discussion included, 'What is an emerging issue in your community?', 'What are your communities key needs/priorities?', and 'What challenges does your community face at the moment?'.

Larry Carlson facilitated the discussion and explained what he would like to achieve through these meetings.

"I think when we gather people together we certainly want to talk to them but more importantly we want to see them talk to each other," detailed Carlson.

Drummond also noted what services SCI Sask offers to its clients during the presentation.

"Our biggest one is Rehabilitation Services, our other major one is Education and Employment. Those are specific to the individuals we work with," said Drummond added.

The main point of the discussion ended with improving the education around special needs people and accessibility.
