Environment Canada has released a special weather statement that will for Moose Jaw and most of Southern Saskatchewan.

The statement says unseasonably mild conditions will continue on, as mild Pacific air continues to push in from the west, causing temperatures to rise above freezing for the day.

A developing weather system, now over northern Alberta, will bring a mix of rain or snow, and a risk of freezing rain through central Saskatchewan this afternoon and then into Manitoba in the evening

It will also bring a strong northwest wind to the southern half of the province this evening. Most areas will see gusts of 60 or 70 km/h and even local gusts of 80 or even 90 km/h are also possible, but these winds will die down as the weather system moves through.

Moose Jaw will see a daytime high of 6 today, well above the average high of -5.
