Has your phone been ringing off the hook over the last 24 hours from mysterious international numbers? Well, you're not alone.

Many residents throughout Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and the country have been reportedly receiving a high number of scam calls which started early Monday morning. The calls are believed to be coming from computer dialers which allow scammers and spammers to dial as many numbers as possible at once.

SaskTel has released a statement saying they are aware of a high number of calls coming from around the world, and that they are actively working to block as many of these calls as possible

They said they are also working with the Canadian Radio-Television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) to help fight the issue.

The calls are being reported across the entire country, and if you receive them - you're asked to just ignore the call and do not call them back. If you do answer, hang up immediately.

Most cell phones have built-in features that can help prevent certain scam calls, but there are also apps available to help as well. To learn more, you can click here.

You can also report these calls to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre on their website, or by phone.

If you think you were a victim of a scam, you're asked to contact the RCMP or the Moose Jaw Police Service.
