food drive

There will be a few saints out this Halloween among all the ghosts and goblins in Moose Jaw.

As we prepare for Halloween on Monday, we're being asked to pick up a few extra groceries along with the bags of candy this weekend. More than 350 volunteers will be out canvassing the city in support of those at the Moose Jaw & District Food bank. The Hillcrest Apostolic Church is holding its sixth annual Better Together Food Drive.

Pastor Steve Atkins says they're collecting non perishable food items to help those in need. "If people are willing to volunteer with the food drive then they can sign up online at www.HACMJ.ca or they can call 692-5600. We're still looking for volunteers, people to go door to door and people to sort the food after it's been collected."

Last year was an overwhelming success with truck loads of food being dropped off at the food bank in the first week of November. Brown paper bags should have arrived in the mail earlier this month to put your donation in. Volunteers will be out from 6 until 9 Monday night.
