The 10 Snowbird CT-114 Tutor Jets that have been grounded in Atlanta, Georgia are making their way back to 15-Wing, Moose Jaw.

After a Snowbird crashed in early October, the team has been on an operational pause.

Following an investigation into the crash, it has been determined that the Tutors are suitable to be flown safely home to Moose Jaw this week. Once landed, more operational risk assessments will take place before any more training flights.

Captain Jennifer Casey from 15 Wing.

"They (the pilots) departed at Peachtree City in Georgia, which is just south of Atlanta Wednesday morning. It's quite a long trip home so it's going to take them (for) two days."

"We were able to provide an RCAF Hercules that brought them down earlier this week along with some equipment for some maintenance, and some of our technicians as well."

Captain Kevin Domon-Grenier sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital as a precaution following the ejection last month. The jet crashed into a field and there were no injuries on the ground.
