Many of you may have seen or heard the snowbirds flying over Moose Jaw yesterday morning.

The 431 Air Demonstration Squadron are preparing for a cross-Canada event over the coming days and weeks.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau talked about it yesterday in his morning address.

"Starting this weekend in Nova Scotia, the Canadian forces Snowbirds will head across Canada to salute Canadians doing their part to stop the spread of COVID-19. As we watch the Snowbirds fly over our homes lets remember that we are all in this together."

Operation INSPIRATION will begin in Nova Scotia and will continue westward across Canada targeting hospitals and residential areas as they go.

In a news release on the government of Canada website, Commanding Officer Lieutenant-Colonel Mike French said this “We’ve been asked to do what we do best… inspire Canadians. Through Operation INSPIRATION, we not only want to salute the front-line health-care workers, first responders, and essential workers, but also all Canadians doing their part to stop the spread of COVID-19. We want Canadians to know we’re in this with you.”

The team will also be announcing anticipated locations and routes for their flyovers on their social media platforms throughout the week.
