Many fans were excited to see the Snowbirds continue on with their airshow tour this past weekend, after taking a leave to focus on training for a few weeks.

Lt. Col. Brad Wintrup said that mother nature held them back on training this year, but taking a pause on the tour was very beneficial for the new and returning pilots.

"We were able to mitigate portions of the more difficult maneuvers to make up for training disadvantages, if you can put it that way. We simplified the formations to make them easier to fly for the guys, and that's what we did for the acceptance show."

In May the team lead decided that more training was needed, so they headed back to 15 Wing Moose Jaw, where they have been for the last few weeks.

They were able to work on some specific and intricate maneuvers , which they were unable to do prior to starting their tour, due to uncooperative weather conditions.

Wintrup said that they will now jump back into their schedule. They just flew in an airshow in Dundurn which went very well, and they will continue the tour down in the states as they head to Michigan. The will wrap up the 2017 season in October.
