We often hear of law enforcement officers doing good things to help people here at home, but for an RCMP officer stationed in Coronach, his efforts to help are crossing the international border.

A young boy in Iowa lost his police officer father who was killed in an off-duty accident.  In response to the tragedy and in support of the boy Police officers started sending the young man their business cards. The boy brought the collection to school to show friends when tragedy struck. A school yard bully ripped them up.

Inspired by a police constable out of Peterborough, Coronach RCMP Constable Billy Gossen is now collecting business cards to replenish the young boy's collection.

"This was a no-brainer, this is the least thing that a police officer can do for this young guy, especially when it means so much to him, so what I did was I just start contacting members within the RCMP," says Constable Gossen.

Gossen, who has been stationed in a variety of places in Canada has been contacting as many RCMP and Police Detachments as he can.

The boy who has received many business cards from the United States, will also now get cards from our country.

"I just sent out a couple emails, so far I've got a lot of responses and by the sound of it I've got a lot of business cards coming my way.

The young man was so proud of his collection and Canadian constables want to support him and show him that bullying won't win.
