The 5th annual Highway to Heroes Car Show will have a bit of a twist this year when it takes place on Sunday at 15 Wing Moose Jaw, as the Canadian Armed Forces Skyhawks are set to perform at the upcoming event.

Skyhawks Leading Seaman Jennifer MacKinnon says their team members go through extensive training.

"We do everything from learning how to do proper canopy piloting, which is parachute piloting as well as accuracy landings and then all of our extensive canopy relative work," explained MacKinnon. "That's where we do controlled collisions in the sky."

Our own Chris Rasmussen is going up and then out of the back of the plane Friday afternoon. You might be able to catch a glimpse of him falling back to earth around 1 o'clock above the Moose Jaw Municipal Airport.

MacKinnon says the Skyhawks are currently on a 65 road trip for shows which started in Halifax for Canada Day. The Snowbirds are also taking part in the performance Sunday at 15 Wing south of the city. For more on the event, check out the Community Events Page.
