The good news is that there is no mention of snow. The bad news is, it doesn't look like we'll get any significant moisture either.

Forecasters were expecting two systems to collide over the province Sunday night, leading to the rain and then eventually snow as the cold front took over. While we did get a few moments of rain Sunday afternoon with some scattered showers Monday morning, it doesn't appear any relief is on the way to the current dry conditions.

Rural property owners are a little on edge after several grass fires in the last few days due to the dry conditions. We have not had any significant moisture this spring and with less than adequate snow over the winter, things are very dry. We're being reminded to be careful with any action that might lead to fires such as tossing cigarette butts out the vehicle window, having bond fires or even welding and making other repairs while in the field as sparks can set the grass ablaze.
