During a press conference on Friday, Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab, urged the public to consider reconsidering their social bubble with the start of the school year just around the corner.

While your current virtual household and regular contacts have been in place through the summer, the return to school will see more contact between parents, teachers, and students. Because of this, Shahab is encouraging the public to take a look at their bubble, is anyone in your bubble high risk? Do you have school-age children or educational staff in your bubble? If so, you may want to consider reducing your bubble size.

"We have to remember that we've had a fantastic summer," said Chief Medical Health Officer, Dr. Saqib Shahab. "But it's time to think about our summer bubble and how it has to change."

Public health will require you to identify all your known contacts if you receive a positive test, as part of their contact investigations.

While so far Saskatchewan has done well in reducing and preventing the spread of COVID-19 cases, it is still important to be vigilant and mindful of the health restrictions put in place. This includes social distancing, group size laws, and cleanliness. While masks are not required, many businesses encourage them to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

Outdoor gatherings of up to 30 people are permitted with appropriate physical distancing at this time.
