On Tuesday the Crown Corporation that provides services for cell phones, landline telephones, and internet access announced that they will be making things easier for their customers out in rural areas.

They're expanding their interNET Extended 25 services to 20 communities, which is also the fastest service they offer to areas outside of cities.

“Our government understands the importance of having access to fast and reliable internet speeds,” said Don Morgan, Minister responsible for SaskTel. “I am pleased with the progress SaskTel has made in our rural communities to greatly enhance the internet service available to Saskatchewan residents.”

“Our interNET Extended 25 service provides rural customers more bandwidth than ever before,” said Doug Burnett, SaskTel President, and CEO. “This upgraded service will allow better access to vital requirements for businesses to remain competitive and for residents to access important services.”

This investment in services is part of SaskTel's plan to spend $301 million of capital throughout the year, that sum of money is also included in the $1.4 billion they plan to invest from 2018-2023.
