The provincial government has released a new framework for a Provincial Education plan amid ongoing talks at the Legislature about the concerning rise of class sizes and diversity.

Education Minister Gordon Wyant released the framework and that will be used to make an action plan for how students are educated from 2020-2030.

Wyant stated this in a release.

"After a year-long engagement process that involved contributions from thousands of Saskatchewan residents including students, parents, teachers, education stakeholders, Indigenous leaders and the business community, we’re very pleased to roll out the priorities they have identified for Saskatchewan classrooms over the next decade,” Wyant said.

The framework includes four main priorities that are as follows.

• Inclusive, safe and welcoming learning environment;

• Ensuring students have the skills and knowledge for their future;

• Forming connections and relationships; and

• Supporting mental health and well-being.

“The framework’s foundation is based on having every Saskatchewan student feel they are learning what they need for their future," said Wyant, "that they belong, can be themselves, and that they are valued, safe and supported."

The Sask Party's Education Class Size and Composition Committee, formed earlier in November has begun its meetings to review of class size and student demographics.
