Thursday night was an educational and exciting night for Sask Polytechnic students as it was the 2015 Saskatchewan Polytechnic, Moose Jaw Campus Business & Industry Dinner.

This event is held to teach students to network with company's and possible future employers from around the province.

"Probably some of the hardest things were saying goodbye to people," said keynote speaker Grant Ring. "Once you left here, there's some people I kept in touch with and other people I haven't seen since but you know that's going to happen when you leave."

Ring is an alumni from Sask Polytech and graduated in 1978 from the Office Administration program.

"I really appreciate the opportunity here, really it was just a warm crowd and a very nice atmosphere, the energy and the excitement of all the young people and seeing their youth and their careers and the oppoutunities ahead of them and their families and things. That to me is why I would come to something like this, its just so easy to do when you can f

eel that energy."

Ring spoke of his experiences and how he ended up with all of his success, but most importantly he spoke of the preparation and consideration he believes each student needs to have to be successful for their bright future ahead of them.

Camara Miller a student in the Geomatics and Surveying Engineering Technology program accepted the student scholarship award.  "They(scholarships) helped with so much from paying tuition, to paying just rent bills and just daily living expenses. It's just helped in so many ways," says Miller.

Miller is originally from Assiniboia and chose Sask Polytech because of the program she is currently in and the small town atmosphere that she believes the Moose Jaw campus has and feels comfortable being in.

Miller will complete all of her classes at the end of December and is still undecided where she will be after graduation but says she's thankful for events like these to show her potential options for her future.
