Nominations for the Saskatchewan "Premier's Service Club Award" are now open.

The award was created back in 2013 to recognize service clubs and fraternal organizations that help to improve our provinces quality of life.

This means that any voluntary, not for profit clubs that perform charitable work either through donating time, money, or manpower for other organizations are eligible to be nominated.

Annually, up to four awards are given out to groups across Saskatchewan.

Last years winning groups were the Churchbridge Lions and Lionesses Club, the Fillmore and District Lions Club, Fort Qu’Appelle Lions Club, Kinsmen Club of Saskatoon, and the Lions Clubs of Saskatchewan.

Nomination forms and a list of eligible organizations are available on their website and nominations are only open until November 15th.

“Service clubs and their members are excellent examples of the Saskatchewan spirit,” said Premier Brad Wall in a news release. “The selflessness and commitment shown in the contributions of these clubs to improve the lives of others is something to celebrate. The Premier’s Service Club Award is one way to show our gratitude for the work they do.”
