The Saskatchewan Liberal Party is calling Scott Moe's carbon tax plan a disservice to the people of Saskatchewan.

In a written release, statements from Saskatchewan Liberal Leader Naveed Anwar outlined his perceived wrongdoing towards the people of Saskatchewan.

"The Saskatchewan government’s unwillingness to negotiate in good faith with the federal government to create a meaningful and effective made-in-Saskatchewan climate action plan has so far served the interests of our province very poorly."

The written release later stated that the Saskatchewan government missed out on $62.5 million in funding by refusing to sign the Pan-Canadian Framework on Clean Growth and Climate Change.

Another claim of Anwar's is that the plan that the Saskatchewan government released was just as disappointing in regards to the environment as well.

"The Sask Party’s only so-called plan is estimated to reduce total emissions by just 1.1% by 2030, a far cry from national and international targets."

The Government of Saskatchewan has opposed the carbon tax since it was proposed.
