The Moose Jaw Kinsmen Club is sending out a massive "Thank You" to residents after an incredibly successful Santa Claus Parade and food drive over the weekend.

On Saturday, the club was able to gather 1,070 lbs. of food donations for the Moose Jaw Food Bank, and on Sunday, another 3,607 lbs. were gathered, for a grand total of 4,677 lbs., all going to those in need.

The Kinsmen Club was blown away by the support the community brought for the Food Bank.

"We were not prepared for Saturday night so we had some more extra trucks and some extra sets of hands-on Sunday, but the outpouring of support was phenomenal the first night," said club member Cory Olafson.

The parade is being spread out over multiple days, with each day going through a different part of the city, continuing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

An updated map of which area the parade will cover each day will be released later this week.

"We added Friday next weekend, which wasn't originally planned, just because it's not a school night. We're going to try and do as little as we can on Sunday. We're trying to knock it out on Friday and Saturday, which is a couple of nights that kids can stay up a bit later," said Olafson.

Olafson added that anyone who has a food donation is asked to put the donation as close as they can to the city sidewalk so donations don't get missed during the parade.
