An over 150-year-old fundraiser has returned for the holidays.

The Salvation Army is looking for donations again as they have their kettles popping up in stores across Moose Jaw, with all the money donated here staying in the city.

"What isn't spent at Christmas time, the rest of it goes to our weekly emergency assistance we give out on Mondays and Thursdays," said Moose Jaw Salvation Army Major, Dan Broome. "We get upwards [of] 100 clients a month who come looking for some sort of emergency assistance in the form of a voucher, which we give, and clothes and gas and other means."

The kettles fundraiser kicked off at Co-Op this Monday morning with Mayor Fraiser Tolmie giving one of the first donations to the kettle. You can find kettles at Co-Op, Safeway, Town 'n' Country Mall, the Liquor Store, Walmart, and Superstore this year..

With all these locations, the Salvation Army is looking for tons of volunteers to help run the kettles.

"We're looking for volunteers right now," said Major Broome. "If you can help out in anyway, we got spots available from 10 in the morning until 9 O'clock at night at most locations."

To sign up to help with the kettles you can call Major Broome at (306) 692-5899.
