With Summer Festivals kicking into high gear and Country Thunder this weekend, the Saskatchewan Health Authority is sharing some tips on remaining safe.

This includes making the right choices about drugs and alcohol and the safety risks associated with the heat.

Consuming alcohol and drugs can increase the risk of dehydration and other heat-related dangers and it can make people more susceptible to injury. Health officials are also warning about the risk of opioid overdoses, and the dangers of accidentally or purposely consuming fentanyl.

Try to avoid staying in the heat for prolonged periods of time. Always drink enough water.
