With fall approaching, and winter following not too soon after, the Riverside Mission will need the community's support so they can continue helping those in need in Moose Jaw.

Their next fundraiser, which is a bit of a way away, is a BBQ held in the Canadian Tire parking lot on September 13th from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm, but they could use monetary donations year-round.

"Well the thing is, I'll just say it like this, there's a reason why we're doing fundraisers because you know, we still need a boiler replacement and we need to pay the bills," explained Jacob Odie, with Riverside Mission. "Like, we're happy to get whatever [donations] but our real need is funds."

Not only is the Mission a soup kitchen, but they also provide emergency shelter, are a transitional housing program, have low rental apartments, and they help people on a day-to-day basis, and those people rely on them especially with the cold weather on its way.
