A few well-known scams are beginning to make their rounds to residents again.

In the Moose Jaw area, there have been reports of text messages being sent to people stating that SaskPower is giving you a refund. Please note that the crown corporation doesn't normally share information with people in this manner.

The second is another scam with culprits claiming to be calling on behalf of STARS lottery.

They'll tell people they are prize winners and share information with you such as your address and phone number to try and convince you, then ask for you to send in money to help with the delivery fees of your prize.

Residents are once again reminded not to share any personal or financial information over the phone or online to an untrusted source. If it's an organization or company you've had contact with previously, hang up and call the establishment directly.
