It's everyone's favourite time again; the sun is out, the daily temperature is sitting above zero more and more frequently, and puddles are beginning to form...in potholes.

Craig Hemmingway, the communications manager with the city of Moose Jaw, says if any residents have a problematic pothole they want to report to the city, it can easily be done instantly through the city of Moose Jaw app.

"Our I.T. and his team lead the charge of getting the Request for Service app and did all the leg work setting that up. They've put a ton of hours into getting the backend of the app set up such that its so incredibly quick and easy to use for our residents."

The best part about using the app to submit an issue Hemmingway says is that the request will be immediately sent to the department which is in charge of fixing that issue.

"When you make any request through the app, whether its a street light that's out - which will automatically go to SaskPower - but if its a garbage issue, pothole, or anything else, you hit send and it goes to the right people in the right department".

"We compiled the data of a couple years worth of request for service and found 'OK, these are the things that our residents are inquiring about and having issues with, so these are the categories we need to create for the app'".

The app is available on Android and Apple app stores. The requests of service app now allow residents to report any issues straight from your phone and covers all areas of the city from potholes to outdoor rinks to playgrounds.
