A new Macdonald-Laurier Institute report released this week claims Saskatchewan has the highest property crime and violence rates in the country, along with a disproportionately high number of indigenous people facing incarceration. Those are just some of the reasons Saskatchewan's Justice System was placed 9th out of the 13 provinces and territories.

The Criminal Justice System report card also states Saskatchewan has the highest rate of people failing to appear for court appearances, and a high rate of people failing to comply with court orders.

The study ends with some good news however, saying the court system is relatively efficient, and that the average case takes around 74 days to resolve.
