As expected, it was a hot one to start the last week of summer vacation for students in Southern Saskatchewan.

11 records were broken, although there's a bit of a jumble when it comes to whether or not Moose Jaw broke a record high. Environment Canada says yes, marking down 35.4 degrees as the new record for August 28th, breaking their old record from 2013, but our record book here in the newsroom has the 2013 record at 36 degrees.

Either way, it was warm enough to send air conditioners into action and people to the pools. The rest of the week is looking pretty nice as well, giving at least a last kick at summer before school starts in a week.
