We have received the news that we were hoping for as Saskatchewan RCMP are telling us that they have cancelled the Amber Alert issued Sunday night for a missing child.

Details are light at this point, but police are confirming that 6-year-old Emma O'Keeffe was found inside North Battleford around 6:45 Monday morning and is now getting the treatment that she needs. Emma was sitting in the back of her mother's running SUV Sunday night when an unknown person stole it.

RCMP held a press conference at 11 on Monday morning.

"The Battleford detachment received information from a remote industrial area within the city limits" explained Cpl Rob King, "A vehicle parked off the paved road in some bushes. The vehicle matched the description of the vehicle from the Amber Alert, members attended to the area with EMS personnel and located the subject of the Amber Alert inside the vehicle. The child was conscious, taken to hospital, examined and reunited with her family."

There was a grave concern for the child as she is both autistic and suffers from epilepsy, requiring medication every 12 hours.

There has been no mention of the suspect, the stolen vehicle or how police came to find the child.

"We currently do not have any suspects in custody, however, this investigation remains ongoing with assistance from Major Crime – North, North Battleford GIS and Forensic Identification Sections."

"We don't know what happened from when the car was taken to when the car was found. We don't know the direction of travel, we don't know where it travelled, we don't know how many people were in the car at the time when it was driving around."

The investigation is ongoing.
