Imagine you need a special tool to be able to do your job but someone else is using it right now.  Sure, it can be annoying but now add in the fact that you're a surgeon and a patient needs this surgery.  It takes it to a whole new level doesn't it?

That's why we're broadcasting from the Dr Wigmore Hospital with the 12th annual 800 CHAB Family First Radiothon, looking to raise $125,000 to buy more surgical equipment.

"We have two orthopaedic surgeons here and they are very efficient operators if they can swing from one OR to the other," said Dr George Miller. "That's the reason we want to set up the extra OR equipment, so that these large set ups for orthopaedic procedures can be done efficiently and done effectively by our orthopaedic surgeons."

The end goal is to have four, fully functional operating rooms so that while one procedure is underway, another can be prepared and save time. But the equipment doesn't come cheap and that's why we're asking for your donations through 6pm Friday evening. Stop in and see the crew at the hospital or give them a call at 691-GIVE (4483) or toll free 1-888-691-4483.
