According to the provincial government, Saskatchewan is sitting at a lower project budget than originally forecast.

The 2018-19 budget for Saskatchewan remains on track, with the projected deficit at $306 million - $59 million less than projected.

The deficit decrease is due to higher forecast revenue from Government Business Enterprises and non-renewable resource revenue.

The economy is looking stronger, too. Through the first four months of 2018, over the same period last year, oil production has increased 8 percent, potash production has increased 11.3%, manufacturing sales have increased by 11.1%, and international exports are up by 4%.
