Hunters looking to apply for big game draws will be able to do so online starting Saturday, and you'll have until May 25 to submit your application.

Last year was a record-setting year according to the Ministry of Environment, with over 110,000 applications being filed.

Environment Minister Warren Kaeding said in a press release "Game populations in many areas have been doing very well. This means that there will be increased hunting opportunities for elk, mule deer, and white-tailed deer in certain zones."

You can apply for a draw through the Saskatchewan Hunting, Angling, and Trapping Licence system, and you're advised to apply early. Results will be available through your HAL web account in mid-June, with the exception of pronghorn which will be released in July.

If hunters do not wish to be drawn for a particular species, they can select zone 99 and their application will be excluded but their pool status will be retained.
