Two residents who tested positive for COVID-19 have died. One person was over 80 years old in the north zone and the other was in the 60 to 79 age range from Regina.

The Government of Saskatchewan reported 238 new COVID-19 cases in Saskatchewan on Wednesday.

The new cases are located in the Far North West (6), Far North Central (3), Far North East (16), North West (17), North Central (25), North East (3), Saskatoon (109), Central East (4), Regina (36), South West (8), South Central (1) and South East (3) zones and seven (7) new cases have pending residence information.

There are 3,970 cases that are considered active, and 84 new recoveries were announced.

There are 132 people in the hospital, with 106 receiving inpatient care, and 26 in intensive care.

To date, 350,391 COVID-19 tests have been processed in Saskatchewan. As of Nov. 30, when other provincial and national numbers were available, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 223,304 people tested per million population. The national rate was 307,889 people tested per million population.

On Tuesday, 2,473 COVID-19 tests were processed in Saskatchewan.
