Will the road to Buffalo Pound finally get fixed in 2015?

The provincial government is trying to get a jump start on the 2015 construction season.  Hoping for more competitive bids and some price guarantees, 80 highway contracts were released for tenders this week.  The tenders will lead to nearly 800,000 tonnes of ashphalt laid down on more than 320km of provincial highways.

More than $200 million worth of work is being priced out for next season in Saskatchewan.  The plan includes 80 contracts, consisting of bridge and culvert projects, grading, paving, repaving, and other road repairs.  Since 2008, the provincial government has spent a record $4.3 billion in transportation infrastructure.

The City of Moose Jaw is also looking to get bids out earlier with the hope of securing enough contractors and better prices, but they'll have to wait for the budget process that's expected to start next month.
