Residents in Saskatchewan with a MySaskHealthRecord account will now be able to view their COVID-19 vaccination record in a new format, which includes a QR Code.

The QR Code will include the individuals name, type of vaccine administered, date, country of issuance, and lot number. The code will also support proof of vaccination if you are travelling internationally.

The vaccine QR Code has already launched in the province, so residents have time to familiarize themselves with it before businesses and organizations begin requiring proof of vaccination in October.

Businesses will be able to scan the QR code with any QR scanner, or they can use the SK Vax Verifier App.

Residents can download, save, or view the code on a mobile device so it's always at the ready, or you can print off your code and keep it with you. Information is secure, and is not viewed, saved or retained during the scanning process.

"This is the next, improved, version of Saskatchewan's COVID-19 vaccination record," Health Minister Paul Merriman said. "It has been something that travelers, businesses and organizations have been asking for. With the announcement last week of stronger measures being introduced to help curb the transmission of COVID-19, I encourage anyone eligible for vaccination in Saskatchewan to get their vaccines, and to get their COVID-19 vaccine certificate from MySaskHealthRecord."

Wallet cards that show vaccines administered will also be considered acceptable proof of vaccination.

The government of Saskatchewan also announced that by the end of the month, residents will be able to download the free Saskatchewan Vaccine Wallet app to download their vaccine record, and have it easily accessible in the SK Vax Wallet app on their phone.
