A weekend of magic paid off for the Moose Jaw Health Foundation (MJHF), literally, as the members of the Little Princess Ball handed over their donation to the Health Foundation from the annual ball.

It's been 10 years since the ball began, and they've been fundraising yearly to improve the hospital in Moose Jaw, both for the old Moose Jaw Union Hospital and the new Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital.

"Over the course of ten years, that has made a profound difference to not hundreds but thousands and thousands of children," explained Kelly McElree, the Executive Director of the MJHF. "We would not have that technology without all those efforts from each and every single one of those Little Princess Ball volunteers."

The Princess Ball board was excited to show how much the community helped them raise this year, which is why McElree accepted the cheque in front of the crowd at the MJHF's "Concerts in the Park" Wednesday night. An amazing donation of $64,671.82 was made, which will go towards the Women's Health Unit and cutting-edge ultrasound technology.

"It's life-changing. It's truly a magical moment and to think of all those moms and little girls that come out each and every year to the Princess Ball. It's a wonderful feeling not just for the patients but for the entire community. Moose Jaw and surrounding communities that support this event should be so, so proud of all those volunteers that make this event possible," McElree added. "Volunteers are truly the heart and soul of the Moose Jaw Health Foundation."

The MJHF is currently in the middle of their Cancer Care Raffle and already planning for the Festival of Trees. You can find more details on the MJHF homepage.
